Update

I've been bad about updating this.

We are all doing really well. We've been really busy having fun :) We are headed to Dallas, Texas on Thursday for one of my best friend's wedding! It's going to be so much fun and I'm so excited to get to spend some time with friends from college. I made some of the greatest friends in college and I have missed them terribly! My parents are coming up to watch Caleb for us from Friday night-Sunday morning. This will be my first time to be away from Caleb like that and I'm nervous but I must admit that I am VERY excited. I am obsessed with my little boy but I am looking forward to a break and just spending time with my husband and friends.

I'm still waiting for more pictures from Caleb's 1st Birthday but I will add a few that I have, then a sneak peek of his year pictures, and then just a few random ones. Get ready, cause these are adorable..

being sung to at the mexican restaurant on his birthday, not a fan of the sombrero but the whipped cream helped :)
He was still not a fan of feeding himself at the time, so I fed him this entire piece of cake and unfortunately he wasn't messy.. so I don't really have any typical 1st birthday pictures of that haha.
That's as messy as it got..

Random shot of Caleb and his "dodo" on his birthday party day!

Jordan's cousin Emily took these pictures. She was very sweet to do these for us!

Brittany was on vacation in San Diego so we went to see her for the day! It was so great to see her and catch up. Caleb loved  her a lot!

oops these are out of order :) Caleb is the happiest baby on earth but somehow we captured him sobbing next to his easter basket two years in a row hahah.

This is a dog that hangs out where I go to get waxed. She is so sweet with Caleb. They sat like that for a really long time, I had to get a picture!

Caleb's First Time Swinging/Beach Weekend

We spent our weekend at the beach, like usual. Saturday we met Meghan and Everett and their boys down in Newport and attempted to go to Huntington Beach so that the guys could surf. We didn't realize it was the US Open this weekend so we had to park a few miles away in a neighborhood and we ended up not making it to the beach because as we got closer we started to see that it was going to be more like a spring break type of thing. We had two babies and a 3 year old, so we figured that probably wouldn't be the best idea in the world. So we stopped at a park and that was about it. Jordan was pretty disappointed that he didn't get to surf so we left our house real early Sunday morning and spent the day at San Onofre (where we usually go) and it was a really fun day.

Here are some pictures of Caleb swinging for the first time.

And here is a video of Caleb swinging.

This is Jordan with his surf board. It's his old longboard. He spent the past week repairing it and then he painted the rising sun on it. I felt so bad for him because he took it out for about 30 minutes or so and then when he came back in he was putting it under his truck so the wax wouldn't melt and he dropped it and it cracked. He worked so hard on it and was so frustrated. So sad. We made friends with some people near us and they let him use one of theirs and then someone else let him use their duct tape so he could still use his. So it turned out to be a really fun day.

Chubby Bubby

Chubby Bubby is one of our nicknames for Caleb. Bubba. Chubba Bubba... all inspired by his chubby thighs and peaches. We can't help ourselves :)

We had Caleb's 4 month check up yesterday. He weighs 18 pounds and 7 ounces and is 26 1/4 inches long! This puts him somewhere from the 75th-90th percentile. Not even three weeks ago, Caleb weighed 17 pounds 13 ounces! He is growing so fast and I'm getting a good arm work out daily haha. :)

I am so thankful for the pediatrician we have for Caleb. He's just great. He has such good advice and seems to really care about Caleb. I'm a pretty laid back mom, way more than I ever thought I'd be, but vaccinations are the one thing that have really freaked me out. I've just heard too many scary things and the thing about vaccinations is that your kid could be perfectly fine, but what if they are one of the few that reacts badly to them? I didn't want to risk it, it's so not worth it to me. I really did my research on them and I was also able to find a pediatrician that not only supports an alternative vaccination schedule but believes in it. It's so nice to be able to ask him questions and to not feel like I'm battling him or anything. The pediatrician that came to the hospital argued with me about the shot thing and ended up making me cry.. I probably wouldn't have cried normally but I JUST had a baby dude haha. Another pediatrician told me I was unfit to be a mom because I didn't want to fully vaccinate Caleb. So it's just so nice to have a pediatrician that not only allows me to do what I want with Caleb, but supports it and tells me that I'm a good mom.

One of the things he recommended for after your baby or child has a shot is a homeopathic called Bella Donna. It comes in pellets and you can either dissolve them in a liquid or crush them up and give them orally. You use it instead of Motrin or Tylenol. Something else I highly recommend to anyone giving their kids shots is Vaccination Detox by Nature's Sunshine. My mom gave it to me when I was little and I have been giving it to Caleb and it's made a huge difference in how he feels after shots. The first time he was pretty sick and screaming his head off (very out of character for him, he's not a fussy baby) and since using the Detox, he seems completely normal after shots, just a little sleepier than normal.

We went peach picking last week and it was really fun! Here are a few pictures.

Also, last week, my new baby nephew was born! His name is Matthew John Preng and he so precious! He was born on July 22nd at 4:37 PM, 20.5 inches long, and 7 pounds and 6 ounces. I can't wait to meet him! It's pretty crazy that Caleb already has 2 little boy cousins and he will have another one when Jana has her little boy in September! Boys are so much fun! My dad is REALLY making up for having 3 girls.

Oh and I'm learning how to surf. I caught a wave the first time I tried and almost rode it into the beach but then after that I was having a hard time just getting through the waves. I haven't really spent any time playing in waves, so I just don't really understand how to get through them with a surfboard, but I want to figure it all out and to get really good. Just wait, someday I'll be doing this...

3 Months Old!

Our little family has been so busy this past month! We've had so many family birthdays and lots of fun summery things to do! It's been really fun but it's made time go by even faster than it already is. I can't believe that Caleb will already be 3 months old tomorrow! I am loving watching him grow and seeing little bits of his personality come out as he develops. He is a sweet, sweet baby.

This month has been full of firsts for Caleb. He took his first swim in the pool with me, took his first plane trip to Texas to visit his Gram and Pops (he did so good on the plane), met a lot of new people (my grandma, aunts, uncles, most of my cousins, my very best friend Lydia, and a few other close family friends), had his first visit to Jackson lake (where Jordan caught his first fish), had his first summer trip to the country club in Wrightwood and celebrated his first Father's Day with his daddy. He's been more and more smiley and his whole face lights up whenever he flashes a big smile at us. He's started to really understand who Jordan and I are and loves to have us near him as much as possible. He also slept through the night for the first time this month and has started to stay in his bassinet during the entire night. We are so thankful for such a sweet and precious baby, he has been such a joy in our lives.

Here are some pictures from the past month...

Zephyr and Caleb on Jordan's Birthday at San Onofre Beach. We celebrated Wiley's birthday that day too! It was a good day!

Caleb "surfing" like daddy. He seemed to really love it.. can't you tell? haha

Even though his face looks like he's not having fun, he loved it. He really loves being in the water. Bath time is one of my favorite times with him because he is so smiley and happy the entire time!

Caleb "swimming in his body".. what Jordan use to call skinny dipping when he was a little kid haha.

I have some cute videos of Caleb smiling and dancing that I will try to post soon.

We are going to Texas again on Saturday to spend a week and the 4th of July at Jordan's family's lake house at Possum Kingdom. We are so excited! It's been a year since we've been out there and it's such a pretty place and so relaxing!

Hope everyone is doing well!
